2.6.x releases introduces
a
majour UI update of toolbar, navigation menu, bookmarks, etc...
2.6.2 is a recommended update, fixing a security issue regarding insufficient sanitization of input strings (see changelog for full explanation). Moreover the release updates POSIX 7z backend to version 9.04, allowing Linux users to benefit of the powerful LZMA2 compression algorithm, and adding support to .XZ and .VHD files; 87 file extensions are now supported for extraction both on Linux and Windows. Hints
On Windows systems it may be useful to keep the installation package,
since it can be used to change program's system integration: file
association, context menu and SendTo menu entries. You don't need to
uninstall the program if you are re-running the setup of the same
version. You can freely replace backend executables in PeaZip/res directory (any PeaZip release/package) with updated ones (as long as they support the same syntax) or with 64 bit counterpart, if available; in this case please note that on Linux 64 bit systems you will need ia32-libs, as long as you need to run a 32 bit executable. Notes * DEB (all) packages can be installed on 32 and 64 bit systems, please note that ia32-libs are required to run any 32 bit binary on 64 bit systems. [third parts packagers: those packages can be transformed in i386 DEB if desired; i386 DEB can anyway be installed on 64 bit systems using dpkg -i --force-architecture] ** Qt widgetset packages requires Qt 4.3.4 or more recent, and needs libqt4intf.so installed in /usr/local/lib or equivalent directory (copy the file and run ldconfig; it is done automatically in installable packages), such as /usr/lib or /usr/lib32 on some 64 bit distributions. external
resources: maintained by third parts, may
be not up to datePeaZip's sources (LGPL v3) are written in FreePascal and requires Lazarus IDE (see notes for developers) If you don't find here packages you are searching for, you can browse all packages Full changelog Do you like PeaZip? Did
you find this project helpful?
I would like if you think about helping me in turning this perceived value in something even more useful: you can donate to UNICEF and UNESCO from donations' page!
